CENOTE TAAK BI HA

Taak Bi Ha, which means “Hidden Route of Water" in Maya, is one of the newer cenotes open for cavern diving. This cenote has an abundance of fragile stalactites, stalagmites, and many spectacular columns.

A small entrance with a very steep stairway leads down into an amazing try cavern area which is illuminated for visitors. Close to the entrance we find a hole from where tanks can be lowered and lifted back up with a rope with the help of the cenote crew for a small fee.

Excellent diving skills and buoyancy control are a must due to its shallow water and very fragile nature of the decorations.

Taak Bi Ha is part of the Sac Actun System (former Dos Ojos System), the longest underwater river system in the world with 369 km (229 miles) of explored lines.
